PhD Opportunities in Statistics

As part of the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute Collaborative Research Team (CANSSI CRT) project, “Advancing statistical methods for the analysis of complex biologging data collected from humans and animals”, we are looking to recruit 4 Statistics PhD students across three Canadian universities: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, and Dalhousie University. Selected applicants will receive part of their stipend through the CRT.


We particularly encourage applications from racialized persons / persons of colour, women, Indigenous / Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ2S+ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas. At the PI level, the 15 member research team is composed of 60% females, 33%

BIPOC, and 13% LBGTQ2 members, and is led by one female from a visible minority and one white female.

Undergraduate Student Opportunities

Summer 2022: "Data Science for White Shark Conservation"

Eligibility: (1) Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or foreign student with valid student visa for the full summer term + (2) Registered (at the time of application) as a full-time student in a bachelor's degree or professional undergraduate degree program at a Canadian university/college
